Overview

Right Path Law Group, PLLC is seeking a Criminal Defense Attorney with 3 to 5 years of experience to join their team in Chantilly, Virginia. This position is focused on providing robust legal representation to clients in criminal cases, with an emphasis on working with a predominantly Spanish-speaking community. The role involves managing an active caseload and collaborating closely with firm leadership on case strategy and outcomes.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage an active criminal defense caseload across various courts in Northern Virginia
  • Represent clients charged with felonies and misdemeanors from arraignment through trial or resolution
  • Develop case strategy, draft and argue motions, and negotiate dispositions
  • Appear at hearings and trials as necessary
  • Communicate proactively with clients in English and Spanish
  • Collaborate with the criminal defense team on strategy and workload distribution
  • Document case activity accurately in the firm's case management system

Required skills

  • Active Virginia bar license
  • 3 to 5 years of criminal defense or prosecution experience
  • Trial experience in General District Court
  • Public defender or former prosecutor experience is encouraged
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
  • Familiarity with local Virginia courts
  • Ability to manage a deadline-driven caseload independently
