Job Description

Overview

The University of Cincinnati is seeking a Crime Analyst & Technical Lead for its Public Safety division. This role involves providing technical and analytical support to enhance operations and address crime patterns through data analysis, reporting, and collaboration with law enforcement personnel.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze data from various sources to identify crime patterns
  • Assist police division staff in accessing computerized information
  • Report statistical data related to officer performance
  • Design computerized reports for internal Division use
  • Provide requested information to media personnel
  • Collaborate with law enforcement to exchange information for analysis
  • Collect and analyze information on special topics
  • Maintain and enhance the Public Safety Portal and risk assessment applications
  • Prepare written materials for internal and external communication
  • Supervise exempt and non-exempt staff as needed

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in crime or intelligence analysis
  • Experience with software development and database administration
  • Knowledge of PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Node/ElectronJS, Python, R, Bash, Powershell
  • Familiarity with Windows Server and MAC OS
