Job Description

Overview

The University of Cincinnati is seeking a Crime Analyst & Technical Lead to support the daily operations of the Police Division. This role involves the collection, analysis, and dissemination of crime data to assist in operational decisions and improve law enforcement efforts.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze data from various sources to determine crime patterns
  • Assist staff in accessing computerized information for citizen inquiries
  • Report statistical data related to officer performance
  • Work with Command Staff on problem-solving projects
  • Design computerized reports for Division use
  • Compile and analyze information on special topics
  • Maintain and enhance the Public Safety Portal
  • Prepare written materials to communicate Division activities
  • Act as a resource for citizens with inquiries about Division services
  • Provide supervision and support for staff as needed

Required skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
  • 1+ year of experience in crime analysis or intelligence analysis
  • Experience with software development and database administration
  • Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MS SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Node/ElectronJS, Python, R, Bash, Powershe
  • Knowledge of Windows Server and Linux operating systems
