Job Description

Overview

The Crew Chief I - Land Surveying at SOLTESZ will provide technical support and guidance to field technicians while overseeing field survey activities. The role requires direct supervision of small projects and adherence to safety protocols in various weather conditions.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to the Director of Surveys and Field Coordinator
  • Guide and direct field technicians
  • Perform field survey activities in accordance with company and industry standards
  • Ensure crew adheres to safety procedures and uses personal safety equipment
  • Supervise crew vehicle, equipment inventory, and maintenance
  • Oversee crew's preparation of sketches, notes, and electronic data collection
  • Supervise daily data collector downloading and prepare reports and field change orders

Required skills

  • 5 years' experience working on a survey field crew
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proficiency in trigonometry and basic surveying computations
  • Experience with Total Stations, Data Collectors, GPS equipment, and associated software
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Physical ability to walk and lift up to 50 lbs
  • Valid driver's license
