Overview

The Credentialing Specialist at Summit Pharmacy Solutions LLC is tasked with ensuring that pharmacy providers and facilities comply with all necessary accreditation and licensure standards. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational and communication skills, as the specialist will manage various credentialing and verification processes within a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Collect and verify healthcare providers' credentials, licenses, certifications, and education records.
  • Ensure timely renewal of licenses and certifications to meet compliance standards.
  • Process initial and reappointment credentialing applications according to established guidelines.
  • Communicate with providers regarding incomplete or missing documentation.
  • Monitor and update databases with accurate provider information and credentialing documentation.
  • Collaborate with various bodies to confirm provider credentials.
  • Stay current on laws and regulations regarding pharmacy credentialing.
  • Prepare reports on credentialing activities and compliance audits.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive provider information.

Required skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Two years of experience in credentialing or healthcare administration
  • Knowledge of healthcare accreditation standards (e.g. The Joint Commission, NCQA, URAC)
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication skills
  • Certification as a Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS) or Certified Professional Medical Services Managem

What the company offers

  • Salary range of $52,000 - $60,000 plus bonus potential
