Overview

The Middlesex Corporation is seeking a Crane Operator to join their team in Kittery, Maine. This role is essential for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of cranes during critical construction tasks such as pile driving, steel erection, and bridge construction, while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Comply with and promote all safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete daily equipment condition reports and checklists.
  • Regularly clean and maintain machinery.
  • Inform Superintendent of equipment fuel status and supply needs.
  • Read load charts and assist with critical lifts.
  • Control crane movements using hand signals and radio commands.

Required skills

  • Valid crane operator license, NCCCO preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in pile driving, steel erection, and bridge construction
  • Experience with hydraulic and friction cranes
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with construction crews
