Overview

The Middlesex Corporation, a leader in heavy civil construction, is seeking a Crane Operator for its operations in Norwalk, Connecticut. The role emphasizes safe and precise operation of cranes to support various construction activities, including pile driving and bridge construction, while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining equipment.

Key responsibilities

  • Comply with and promote all safety policies and procedures, reporting accidents and incidents
  • Complete daily equipment condition reports and checklists for the Project Superintendent
  • Maintain cleanliness of machines, including regular cleaning and lubrication
  • Understand and comply with company safety policies and utility location in the work zone
  • Inform Superintendent of equipment fuel status for scheduling fuel delivery
  • Read and understand load charts, assist with critical lifts, and control crane movement

Required skills

  • Valid crane operator license for the State of Connecticut
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in pile driving, steel erection, and bridge construction
  • Experience with hydraulic and friction cranes
  • OSHA 10 certification
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse teams
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
