Overview

The Helen Ross McNabb Center is seeking Counselors, Advocates, Specialists, and Peer Support Staff in Hamilton and McMinn Counties, TN. This role focuses on providing recovery support and mental health services to clients, emphasizing compassion and community impact.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day recovery support to clients inside the Hamilton County Corrections Facility
  • Serve as a role model using personal experience with mental health or substance use recovery
  • Lead or co-facilitate groups and engage clients in programming
  • Conduct intakes, perform safety checks, and supervise clients in Supportive Housing programs
  • Facilitate psychoeducational groups and maintain a supportive recovery environment

Required skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in mental health or substance use recovery
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
  • Ability to work shift-based schedules, including evenings and weekends
