Overview

The Cost Engineering & Sourcing Strategy Analyst at Ace Hardware Corporation will analyze cost, commodity, and market data to set cost reduction goals and collaborate with various teams to execute strategies. This role involves utilizing analytical tools to evaluate opportunities, synthesize data for actionable insights, and conduct vendor negotiations.

Key responsibilities

  • Evaluate cost and market data to identify cost engineering opportunities
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute cost out strategies
  • Monitor changes in commodity markets and industry shifts
  • Synthesize product and market research into actionable insights
  • Conduct negotiation training and mock negotiations
  • Manage line review bid process using eRFx platform
  • Employ analytics tools to evaluate bid scenarios and calculate cost savings
  • Track project milestones and resolve roadblocks
  • Collaborate with merchandising, category management, finance, and pricing

Required skills

  • Analytic abilities with critical thinking and problem solving
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with tools like Alteryx and Power BI
  • Understanding of manufacturing, sourcing, and product development processes
  • Experience with sourcing software (e.g., Coupa, Jaggaer)
  • Strong presentation and negotiation skills
  • Ability to interpret complex data and develop insights
