Overview

CoreCivic is seeking a dedicated Correctional Officer to ensure the security and supervision of inmates in a correctional facility. This role requires commitment to high standards of professionalism and service, with a focus on maintaining order and security across various posts within the institution.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide security and direct supervision of inmates in housing units, during meals, recreation, and work assignments
  • Maintain order and security using weapons or force when necessary
  • Work various shifts and posts as assigned, including armory/key control, housing units, kitchen, medical, and visitation

Required skills

  • High school diploma or GED certification
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to complete required training
  • Knowledge in security management and crisis intervention
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills
  • First Aid/CPR certification
  • Experience in reports writing and compassionate care
