Overview

The Corporate Paralegal at Invitation Homes plays a crucial role in supporting the Legal Department, reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer. This position is responsible for managing the company's entity management program, handling various legal tasks related to corporate governance, securitization, and trademark administration within a dynamic environment of a publicly traded REIT.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and control the company's entity management program.
  • Maintain comprehensive entity database and documentation.
  • Manage annual corporate filings and state compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate entity formations, mergers, and dissolutions.
  • Prepare and maintain corporate governance documentation.
  • Assist with securitization projects, including document preparation.
  • Manage the company's intellectual property portfolio.
  • Support legal compliance for property acquisitions and evictions.
  • Track legal department expenses and manage legal invoices.
  • Provide support to various Legal Department attorneys as needed.

Required skills

  • Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved paralegal program
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a corporate legal environment
  • Hands-on experience with entity management and corporate governance
  • Experience in real estate, REIT, or related industry preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and entity management software
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects
  • Self-starter with strong attention to detail and discretion
