Job Description Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented attorney to provide products counseling support to the Agentic AI organization within Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS offers a wide range of IT products and services for cloud customers, including on-demand compute, storage, database, AI, and other technology products. In this role, you will work closely with internal business clients to advise on complex legal issues, support new product launches and strategic initiatives, and provide subject matter expertise on regulatory and compliance issues. The successful candidate must be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. Developing innovative solutions to novel legal questions is part of our daily business.Key job responsibilities - Identifying legal risks and proposing mitigation strategies - Advising on regulatory issues (including privacy-related issues) - Overseeing compliance, negotiating strategic technology agreements, and providing input on business strategy - Developing strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways - Helping build processes that address risk and allow the business to innovate and scale quicklyA day in the life In a typical day, you may meet with several of your client teams to discuss upcoming product launches, provide advice to a business client on a contract, develop a strategy document for a novel legal issue, and join a meeting with business leaders to review an important project. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent - 5+ years of legal experience - Experience in transactional and technology licensing or equivalent PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work - Experience in web services/cloud computing, software licensing, telecommunications or equivalent - Experience prioritizing and handling multiple assignments at any given time while maintaining commitment to deadlines, or experience in a fast-paced, high-tech company - Experience effectively communicating complex concepts through written and verbal communication Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
