Overview

Amazon Leo is an initiative to launch a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world. This role will serve as product counsel for strategic initiatives related to our consumer products and services. You will be responsible for counseling Amazon Leo's product marketing, engineering, compliance, and operations teams on a wide range of issues across our consumer and residential business. You will work directly with the business to handle legal issues in business-centric ways and develop processes that address risk while allowing the business flexibility and freedom to quickly develop services that prioritize and delight our customers. You'll engage with product marketing, engineering, and operations teams, translating intricate legal requirements into actionable strategies that accelerate our mission of global connectivity. About the team Our Amazon Leo legal team is a collaborative, innovative group dedicated to expanding internet access worldwide. We're not just lawyers - we're problem-solvers who understand that legal expertise can be a catalyst for technological advancement and social progress. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years of legal experience - Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS - Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work - Experience in reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts - Experience in managing multiple, competing priorities simultaneously - Experience advising on consumer-facing product launches, including privacy, marketing, and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions - Knowledge of telecommunications, satellite, or broadband regulatory frameworks (e.g., FCC, ITU, or international equivalents) a plus - Experience counseling engineering and product teams on data privacy, consumer protection, and compliance matters in a technology-driven organization Amazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.
