Overview

The Corporate Accountant at AAA Life Insurance Company plays a critical role in maintaining and analyzing financial activities that impact general ledger accounts. This position requires collaboration with various teams to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements while adhering to both GAAP and SAP regulations. Key responsibilities

  • Develop financial models using the OneStream system.
  • Maintain subsidiary ledgers in accordance with statutory accounting principles and GAAP.
  • Prepare monthly analyses and financial reports.
  • Analyze discrepancies in accounting records and initiate corrective actions.
  • Ensure account balances are reported accurately and cleared timely.
  • Audit accounting transactions for multi-company and multi-state operations.
  • Resolve reconciling problems with other business units and banks.
  • Participate in modifying data systems for compliance and integrity.
  • Prepare schedules for audits and maintain documentation.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements.
  • Process and analyze internal and external reinsurance transactions.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in accounting or finance
  • Experience with automated accounting systems and data processing
  • General ledger accounting, account analysis, and reconciliations
  • Application of GAAP
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and spreadsheet reporting
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as needed
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems (preferred)
