Job Description

Overview

The Corporate Accountant at Icy Strait Point LLC will be responsible for supporting financial operations, including monthly and annual close activities, reconciliations, and ensuring compliance with GAAP. This role provides an opportunity to work across diverse business operations such as tourism and federal contracting, requiring strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Complete balance sheet and account reconciliations
  • Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
  • Prepare financial statements and internal management reports
  • Conduct variance analysis and investigate discrepancies
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Assist with external audits and respond to audit requests
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies
  • Provide backup support for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Payroll functions as needed

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • 3 to 7 years of corporate accounting experience
  • Full-cycle accounting experience
  • Experience supporting external audits preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and lookups
  • Experience with ERP systems; Sage Intacct preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP
  • CPA or progress toward CPA licensure preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solving

What the company offers

  • Salary range of $75,000 - $100,000 commensurate with experience
