Overview

The University of California, Agriculture and Natural Resources is seeking a Cooperative Extension Area Weed Science Advisor to serve Sonoma, Napa, and Marin counties. This role involves implementing an extension education and applied research program aimed at addressing local weed management challenges through innovative solutions and collaboration with various stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement an innovative multi-county extension education program focused on weed management challenges.
  • Conduct applied research to address issues such as herbicide resistance and invasive weed species.
  • Engage in community education through workshops, consultations, and publications.
  • Collaborate with agricultural producers and resource management agencies to disseminate information.
  • Develop expertise in both organic and conventional weed management practices.

Required skills

  • Master's degree in weed science, plant science, agronomy, crop science, or a related field.
