Overview

The University of California, Agriculture and Natural Resources is seeking a Cooperative Extension 4-H Youth Development Advisor to serve San Diego and Imperial Counties. The role involves developing, delivering, and evaluating programs that provide youth with opportunities in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, agriculture, and mathematics), fostering personal development and community engagement.

Key responsibilities

  • Design and implement extension education and applied research programs focused on youth participation in STEAM activities.
  • Develop and deliver workshops to build skills among youth and adult volunteers in STEAM-related subjects.
  • Conduct applied research in collaboration with 4-H staff, advisors, and community partners.
  • Evaluate youth development programs that support STEAM engagement in educational settings.
  • Establish partnerships with stakeholders to enhance program visibility and impact.

Required skills

  • Master's degree in youth development, education, or related STEAM disciplines
  • Experience in applied research, program evaluation, and education programs for youth
  • Strong leadership and program management skills
