Job Description

Overview

Summit is seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian to join their Corrections Team. In this remote role, you will provide nutritional expertise to field employees and assist in developing nutritionally adequate menus for various facilities. The position involves collaboration with management and client interaction to ensure client satisfaction and adherence to nutritional regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with District Manager and Food Service Director to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Enter recipes into menu software for consistent food product across facilities.
  • Develop menus based on nutritional parameters and make adjustments as needed.
  • Assist with special dietary needs and provide appropriate menu options.
  • Maintain costing of recipes and menus using menu management software.
  • Participate in sales and proposal processes, including menu development and cost support.
  • Ensure compliance with National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs regarding menu planning.
  • Contribute to quality improvement programs and dietary department initiatives.

Required skills

  • Registered Dietitian status and meeting eligibility requirements by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
  • Licensure or certification as required by state.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards for dietary planning and assessments.
  • Ability to teach nutrition concepts.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics.
  • Strong communication, cooperation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with computer software for menu management.
