Job Description

Overview

Summit is seeking an experienced registered dietitian to join their Corrections Team, providing nutritional expertise and developing cost-effective menus for correctional facilities. This remote role includes occasional travel and aims to enhance client satisfaction through collaboration and compliance with nutritional standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with District Manager and Food Service Director to ensure client satisfaction
  • Enter recipes into menu software for consistency across facilities
  • Develop menus based on nutritional parameters and state guidelines
  • Assist with special dietary needs and provide appropriate menus
  • Maintain costing of recipes and menus using menu management software
  • Participate in sales and proposal development processes
  • Understand and implement National School Lunch and Breakfast Program regulations
  • Assist in continuous quality improvement programs and special projects

Required skills

  • Registered Dietitian or eligible per Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics requirements
  • 75 hours of continuing education every five years
  • Knowledge of regulation standards for nutrition and dietetics
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Customer service orientation
