Job Description

Overview

Summit is seeking a fully remote Cook Supervisor to join their Corrections Team, focused on providing nutritional expertise and developing menus that meet industry standards. This role will involve collaboration with various teams to ensure client satisfaction and compliance with nutritional regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with District Manager and Food Service Director to ensure client satisfaction
  • Enter recipes into menu software for consistency across facilities
  • Develop and modify menus based on nutritional parameters set by state regulations
  • Assist with special dietary needs and provide appropriate menus
  • Maintain costing of recipes and menus using menu management software
  • Participate in sales processes including proposal development and bid menu costing
  • Understand and apply nutritional requirements for National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs
  • Review RFPs and provide necessary documentation by deadlines
  • Assist in identifying initiatives and special projects within the Dietary Department
  • Participate in continuous quality improvement programs

Required skills

  • Registered Dietitian certification
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nutrition or Dietetics
  • Knowledge of nutrition regulations and standards
  • Ability to teach nutritional concepts
  • Excellent communication, cooperation, and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Customer service orientation
