Job Description

Overview

The Cook at Bethany prepares and serves meals in a fast-paced kitchen, ensuring that they meet the nutritional and dietary needs of residents. This role involves maintaining food quality and adhering to food safety practices in a supportive team environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals according to menu specifications and dietary guidelines
  • Maintain proper food safety standards, including following HACCP procedures
  • Ensure attractive plate presentation and timely service
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen equipment, work areas, and dishes
  • Receive, store, and rotate food and supply deliveries
  • Monitor kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues
  • Assist with kitchen opening and closing duties
  • Help with food prep, dishwashing, and kitchen cleaning as needed
  • Support team members and assist with special events when required

Required skills

  • Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic math and problem-solving skills
  • Team collaboration and quality service focus
  • Must meet background check requirements
