Overview

As a Cook at Aramark in Kennebunk, Maine, you will have the opportunity to bring your culinary creativity to life while working with fresh ingredients and high-quality equipment. This role requires you to prepare a variety of foods, experiment with different cooking techniques, and maintain high standards of food safety and customer service.

Key responsibilities

  • Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling
  • Safely use a variety of utensils and operate kitchen equipment
  • Bakes, roasts, broils, and steams food using various cooking methods
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to guidelines
  • Store food safely by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintain excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests and coworkers
  • Adhere to safety policies and ensure security of company assets

Required skills

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Knowledge of food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and certification requirements
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role including lifting and extended standing
