Overview

As a Cook at Aramark, you will bring recipes to life and have the opportunity to express your creativity in the kitchen. Working with fresh ingredients and top-notch equipment, you will prepare a variety of foods while adhering to safety and food handling guidelines to ensure a high-quality dining experience for guests.

Key responsibilities

  • Prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
  • Set up workstation with needed ingredients and equipment
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, and peeling
  • Safely use various utensils including knives
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, and mixers
  • Bakes, roasts, broils, and steams food using different cooking methods
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to guidelines
  • Store food properly by adhering to food safety policies
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils
  • Maintain excellent customer service and a positive demeanor towards guests and coworkers
  • Adhere to safety policies and procedures, including food safety and sanitation

Required skills

  • Experience as a cook or in a related role
  • Knowledge of food preparation principles and cooking methods
  • Understanding of food safety regulations and procedures
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
