Overview

SSP Canada is seeking a Cook 1 to join their team at Spinnakers Victoria Airport in North Saanich, British Columbia. This role offers a unique culinary environment and requires following recipes, maintaining kitchen standards, and ensuring food quality.

Key responsibilities

  • Follow recipes and present dishes as ordered
  • Set up and maintain the kitchen workspace
  • Handle, store, and rotate food products properly
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper functioning of kitchen equipment
  • Take stock and ensure everything is in order before shifts end
  • Complete control sheets for opening, in progress, and closing

Required skills

  • Minimum one year experience in food service
  • Ability to follow basic recipes and operate kitchen equipment
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Food handler's permit as required by law
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for extended periods
  • Ability to obtain Transport Canada security clearance
