Job Description

Overview

As a Controls Engineer for AWS Infrastructure Services, you will play a critical role in the design, delivery, and operation of AWS global infrastructure. This position involves troubleshooting and managing building management systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS), working with a diverse team of professionals to ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency in data center operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Train and assist stakeholders with BMS and EPMS systems.
  • Provide technical support to operations during data center life cycles.
  • Review maintenance results for BMS and EPMS and resolve action items.
  • Manage the scope, schedule, budget, and execution of BMS and EPMS projects.
  • Assist in procurement activities related to BMS and EPMS.
  • Participate in the global on-call schedule for BMS and EPMS support.
  • Attend project meetings and report status to management.
  • Support commissioning activities for controls projects.
  • Develop and modify control logic programming and interfaces.
  • Manage multiple stakeholder requirements and deliverables.
  • Financially manage BMS and EPMS service contracts.
  • Conduct visits to operational data centers for troubleshooting and compliance.

Required skills

  • 5+ years of industrial controls and automation experience
  • 4+ years of vendor management and project execution experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience with HVAC Controls or Electrical SCADA systems
  • Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (MQTT, BACnet, MODBUS)
  • Understanding of engineering documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and navigate challenging situations
  • Experience in designing data centers or critical MEP infrastructure
  • Professional Engineer (PE) registration or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
