Job Description

Overview

As a Controls Engineer at Amazon Data Services, you will be an integral part of the global controls team, focusing on troubleshooting, project management, and the maintenance of building management systems (BMS) and electrical power monitoring systems (EPMS) within data centers. This role requires a US citizenship and an active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.

Key responsibilities

  • Train and assist internal customers with BMS and EPMS systems.
  • Provide technical assistance and support during the data center life cycle.
  • Review maintenance results for BMS and EPMS and resolve issues.
  • Develop scope of work, schedule, budget, and level of efforts for BMS & EPMS projects.
  • Manage the execution of BMS and EPMS improvement projects.
  • Assist in procurement activities and vendor management.
  • Participate in an on-call schedule for immediate technical support.
  • Attend project-related meetings and report status to stakeholders.
  • Support commissioning activities for Controls projects in data centers.
  • Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables and requirements.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of relevant controls experience or 8+ years without a degree
  • Experience with industrial controls in critical environments
  • 2+ years of project or vendor management experience
  • Knowledge of BMS and EPMS systems
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (MQTT, BACnet, MODBUS)
  • Prior experience in military, data centers, or similar mission-critical facilities
