Job Description

Overview

As a Controls Engineer at Amazon Data Services, Inc., you'll be part of a global team responsible for maintaining and managing the building management and electrical power monitoring systems critical to AWS data centers. Your role will involve troubleshooting, project management, and innovation of controls systems, ensuring operational excellence in data center performance and safety.

Key responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and perform Root Cause Analysis for Control Systems in AWS Data Centers
  • Manage scope of Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS)
  • Train internal customers and stakeholders in BMS and EPMS systems
  • Review maintenance results for BMS and EPMS and implement resolutions
  • Develop project scope of work, schedule, budget, and level of efforts for BMS and EPMS projects
  • Support procurement activities including proposal responses and vendor reviews
  • Provide technical support during the lifecycle of the data center
  • Participate in the global on-call schedule for BMS and EPMS support
  • Review and iterate control sequence of operation and provide feedback to design team
  • Financially manage BMS and EPMS service contracts

Required skills

  • 5+ years of construction management of large, complex projects
  • Experience with power management and power monitoring systems
  • 5+ years of experience with industrial controls in critical environments
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent OR 10+ years of relevant controls exp
  • General contractor and vendor management experience
  • Experience carrying new design concepts through development to deployment
  • Knowledge of critical data center equipment and engineering documentation
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and Windows Operating Systems
