Job Description

Overview

The Controls Engineer role at Amarx Search, Inc. involves supporting plant leadership in achieving business and financial goals through the development and maintenance of robust testing and assembly processes. The candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, fabricating, validating, and troubleshooting production equipment and programs.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide guidelines for the design and selection of test equipment
  • Develop testing protocols and test data collection programs
  • Support, service, and troubleshoot controls for production and test equipment
  • Develop test equipment specifications ensuring compliance with safety standards
  • Identify and remediate potential safety hazards
  • Develop interfaces between SQL databases and production systems
  • Enforce safety expectations and communicate hazards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing and quality assurance
  • Perform root cause and failure analysis
  • Guide capital equipment selection process and develop Capital Appropriation Requests
  • Lead cost-out initiatives and promote continuous improvement
  • Leverage advanced technology to improve information systems for controls
  • Lead projects and develop goals, budgets, and work breakdown structures
  • Execute change management within manufacturing operations

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in Controls or Test Engineering
  • Experience with NI LabVIEW and NI TestStand
  • Experience with developing Ignition (SCADA)
  • PLC and HMI programming skills
  • Knowledge of safety systems design
  • Ability to build PLC from scratch
  • Experience with Visual Basic/Visual Studio and SQL
  • Experience with Rockwell Software (RSLogix 5, RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View ME, FactoryTalk S
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma tools
