Financial Controller Manufacturing Full Time On site Salary: $110,000 - $125,000 + Bonus Our manufacturing client in Orillia, ON is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to lead its accounting and financial operations. This is a high impact leadership role for a hands on finance professional who enjoys strengthening controls, driving process improvement, and partnering closely with senior leadership to support operational and strategic decision making. The Perks: $110,000-$125,000 Benefits Bonus RRSP vacation and more The Role: Oversee and direct the daily activities of the finance team (4) Direct, organize, and oversee the entire accounting function, including accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, billing, cost accounting, inventory, capital assets, and revenue recognition. Lead the end to end preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements, board packages, and management reports, providing clear financial insights to support leadership decision making. Ensure full compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements, while continuously strengthening and enhancing internal controls. Design, implement, and maintain robust control frameworks to safeguard company assets and ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial reporting. Lead the annual budgeting cycle, rolling forecasts, ad hoc financial modeling, and cost benefit analyses to support both operational and strategic initiatives. Act as the primary owner of financial controls within the ERP system, serving as a key subject matter expert and internal trainer for system users. Manage grant accounting and reporting, ensuring proper tracking of funding, compliance with grant requirements, and timely submission of financial reports. Drive finance process automation and digital transformation, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance data accuracy. Partner closely with Operations, Sales, and Senior Leadership to align financial strategy with business objectives and operational priorities. Oversee and manage the organization's credit, collections, and credit insurance programs, proactively mitigating financial and customer credit risk. Ensure the accuracy and integrity of inventory accounting, including oversight of inventory controls, cycle counts, and annual physical inventory processes. Lead all aspects of the annual external audit, serving as the primary liaison with auditors and coordinating audit execution and follow up. Provide strong leadership, mentorship, and performance management to the Finance team, fostering professional development and accountability. You Bring: CPA designation - MUST HAVE Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field. 5+ years of progressive finance experience with leadership responsibility at a Controller level Manufacturing or industrial experience Experience with job costing or cost accounting is a great asset MS Excel proficiency and experience with ERP (or similar accounting systems) Demonstrated success driving process improvement/automation
