Job Description

Overview

CFS is seeking a Controller to lead the financial operations for its Woodstock, IL facility, which supports a $20M P&L across two plants. The role is set within a globally recognized manufacturing company backed by a private equity firm, offering a collaborative and analytical work environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead month end close for the Woodstock, IL operation
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations, including prepaids, fixed assets, and depreciation
  • Oversee inventory accounting, including valuation, overhead rates, and variance analysis
  • Support and review key inventory calculations such as excess & obsolete reserves and NRV
  • Partner with operations and engineering to ensure accuracy in BOMs and production costing
  • Perform financial analysis and prepare monthly reporting packages for senior leadership
  • Provide clear insights into performance trends and recommend areas for operational and financial improvement

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong background in manufacturing
  • Experience with inventory accounting, including overhead allocation and variance analysis
  • Ability to translate financial results into actionable business insights
