Job Description

Overview

Jobot is seeking a dynamic and experienced Controller for a large food manufacturing company that is growing through both organic means and acquisitions. The Controller will play a crucial role in managing and improving the financial health of the organization, focusing on key areas such as financial planning, reporting, and compliance with GAAP standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with GAAP standards
  • Manage month-end closing process and prepare financial statements and reports
  • Maintain internal control safeguards and coordinate audit activities
  • Develop and monitor business performance metrics focusing on KPIs
  • Manage cash flow and forecasting, directing financial and departmental accounting
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to develop financial strategies
  • Implement and maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring financial and operating performance
  • Conduct audits and provide information to external auditors

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA highly desirable
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, month-end processes, and KPI metrics
  • Proven experience in financial analysis and forecasting
  • Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles
  • Excellent communication skills for conveying complex financial data
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong leadership skills dedicated to achieving results
  • Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
