Overview

The Control Systems Specialist at Primient in Decatur, Illinois is responsible for conducting field repairs of control devices in plant production areas. This role supports the company's commitment to safety and operational excellence while contributing to the effective maintenance and troubleshooting of various control systems and instrumentation.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform field repairs of control devices in production areas
  • Identify and correct potential safety problems
  • Maintain and calibrate process analyzers and control instruments
  • Use PLC logic, P&ID drawings, and electrical schematics for diagnostics
  • Troubleshoot motor control circuits and PLC network communications
  • Interface with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Collaborate with maintenance mechanics and production technicians

Required skills

  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation, electrical systems, and mechanical systems
  • Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and control loops
  • Ability to use precision-measuring equipment
  • Familiarity with industrial electrical equipment and process instrumentation
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office 360
  • Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied environments
