If so, the City of Leawood is looking for a Contract Coordinator to support the Public Works Department.As the Contract Coordinator, you'll play an integral role in managing contracts and supporting infrastructure projects that improve the City's streets, facilities, and public spaces. You'll be part of a collaborative environment where organization, innovation, and continuous improvement are valued, and where your contributions directly support the City's long-term success.WHAT YOU'LL DOCoordinate the administration, tracking, and execution of contracts for Public Works projects, ensuring compliance with insurance, bonding, payment, and contract requirements.Support capital improvement and infrastructure projects from initiation through close-out by monitoring schedules, documentation, approvals, and project milestones.Assist with formal bid openings and Requests for Proposals (RFPs), including preparing bid tabulations and supporting the evaluation process.Partner with project engineers, project managers, and City departments to monitor project progress, communicate updates, and resolve issues proactively.Support the department's accreditation efforts through research, reporting, documentation, and continuous process improvement.Help implement new systems and technologies that improve project tracking, reporting, and operational efficiency.Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries regarding Public Works projects, contracts, and construction activities. WHAT YOU BRINGKnowledge of contract administration and project coordination principles.Strong organizational skills with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, compliance, and documentation.Ability to analyze processes and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.Experience using contract management systems and document management software.A proactive, collaborative approach with a commitment to providing outstanding customer service.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSMust have five (5) years of contract administration and project management experience or equivalent experience. Equivalent experience includes a bachelor's degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field with at least three (3) years of contract administration and project management experience.Must be or be able to obtain within one (1) year of hire, a Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) through the Project Management Institute or another accredited agency approved by the Public Works Director.Must have experience using Microsoft Office Suites.
