Overview

The Continuous Improvement Engineer role focuses on hands-on operational improvement within wood-products mills, primarily in the Green Bay area. This position requires collaboration with plant leaders to utilize data for enhancing reliability, throughput, and team capabilities on the production floor.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive continuous improvement and optimization across multiple sites
  • Analyze data to identify and fix bottlenecks for measurable gains
  • Develop skills and conduct on-floor training for employees
  • Mentor teams and support local trainers
  • Collaborate with engineering on process, product mix, and materials
  • Contribute to regional strategy and capital decisions
  • Conduct practical audits and share best practices
  • Coordinate effective use of outside experts

Required skills

  • Engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong analytics and problem-solving skills
  • Approachable and credible leadership
  • Experience in plywood, engineered wood products, and wood/lumber manufacturing
  • Hands-on mechanical and electrical aptitude
