Job Description: Subject: Seeking Worship Leader for New Contemporary Worship Ministry at Ocean Reef The Protestant Congregation of Ocean Reef (PCOR) in Key Largo, Florida, is beginning an exciting new chapter in its worship ministry. We are exploring the development of a new contemporary worship service designed to provide an additional worship opportunity for our congregation and the broader Ocean Reef community. We are seeking a gifted and spiritually mature Worship Leader who would enjoy the opportunity to help us develop and establish this new ministry. Responsibilities We are looking for someone who: Has a strong Christian faith and a genuine heart for congregational worship Is an accomplished vocalist and/or instrumentalist Has experience leading contemporary Christian worship Understands the difference between leading worship and simply performing music Can work comfortably with both contemporary music and the rich hymn tradition of the church Has the relational skills to recruit and develop a worship team Is comfortable working collaboratively with pastors, musicians, and existing church leadership Can help shape the musical and spiritual identity of a new worship service We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who may currently be serving as worship leaders, music directors, church musicians, or worship team members in South Florida or the Florida Keys, as well as those who may be interested in a new ministry opportunity. This is an opportunity to build something. The person we are seeking will have significant input into the development of the worship format, selection of music, recruitment of musicians and vocalists, and overall character of the new service. PCOR is an established interdenominational congregation with a strong tradition of worship and music. We envision contemporary worship not as a replacement for that tradition, but as an additional expression of worship that can reach and engage another segment of our congregation and community.
