Overview

The Consumer Loan Officer at Sun Federal Credit Union provides a range of financial products and services, focusing on enhancing member relationships through consumer lending and financial counseling. This role requires a solid understanding of financial services, as well as the ability to identify member needs and recommend appropriate products and services.

Key responsibilities

  • Interview and process consumer loan applications including Visa, Personal, and Vehicle loans.
  • Counsel members on money management and financial matters.
  • Cross-sell and refer members to relevant specialists based on their needs.
  • Execute the branch and credit union business plan.
  • Develop and maintain quality member relationships.
  • Ensure accurate and efficient processing of all member requests.
  • Approve and decline loan requests within authority limits.
  • Coordinate and process loan closings and post-loan services.
  • Participate in branch goals and initiatives.
  • Open and maintain personal and business accounts.

Required skills

  • Knowledge of credit union loan services, policies, and procedures.
  • Understanding of legal and regulatory standards related to lending.
  • Experience in consumer and residential lending practices.
  • Excellent communication, interviewing, and public relations skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to use loan processing software and business equipment.
  • Minimum three to five years of experience in credit and lending.
