Overview

The Consumer Lending Manager at Financial Plus Credit Union oversees the Consumer Loan Officer team and related staff, ensuring strong operational performance and member experience. This role involves leadership, strategic oversight, and collaboration across departments to enhance lending operations while maintaining compliance and risk management.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the Loan Officers and support staff to ensure high member service and operational effectiveness.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and performance management to the lending team.
  • Support consumer lending growth objectives through operational analysis and data-driven recommendations.
  • Monitor lending production metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to enhance workflows and member experience.
  • Conduct quality reviews and audits to ensure compliance and operational consistency.
  • Assist with escalated lending decisions and complex member concerns.
  • Stay current on lending regulations and industry trends.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3 to 5 years of consumer lending experience, with leadership experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of consumer lending regulations and underwriting principles
  • Experience with loan origination systems and workflow automation
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to analyze operational data and drive performance improvements
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite applications
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills
