Overview

Barringer Construction is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead job sites in Charlotte, NC. This role involves overseeing daily operations, coordinating trade partners, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met throughout the construction process. As a key representative of the company, the Superintendent will play a critical role in enhancing client relationships and project success.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead daily field operations, focusing on safety, quality, and productivity
  • Coordinate subcontractors and ensure adherence to schedule and quality expectations
  • Read and interpret construction plans and specifications, problem-solving issues as they arise
  • Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and design partners
  • Maintain a clean and organized job site
  • Manage project schedules and trade sequencing
  • Document daily progress and field conditions
  • Mentor and guide assistant superintendents and field staff

Required skills

  • 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent with a commercial general contractor
  • Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency with Procore and familiarity with Bluebeam and Microsoft Office
  • Solid understanding of OSHA standards and jobsite safety practices
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment
  • Effective communication and relationship-building skills
