Job Description

Overview

Harvest Solar is seeking a Construction Site Superintendent to oversee and manage all onsite construction activities in Champaign, Illinois. This role involves coordinating with various project teams to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the desired quality standards while adhering to safety regulations.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local health and safety laws.
  • Coordinate with project teams to manage budgets, forecasts, and field personnel.
  • Prepare work plans and develop necessary temporary facilities for projects.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and construction documents for completeness.
  • Manage overall project schedules and update them weekly.
  • Generate Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify project documents.
  • Oversee the company's quality control program for assigned projects.
  • Conduct on-site project meetings with subcontractors and construction teams.
  • Supervise and mentor field personnel, ensuring they have the necessary resources.
  • Manage performance evaluations and provide feedback for continuous development.

Required skills

  • 3-5 years of construction experience in a leadership role.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management preferred.
  • Valid State Driver's License; CDL certification preferred.
  • MIOSHA Certification (e.g., OSHA 30).
  • Proficient in construction scheduling and project management.
  • Strong understanding of company policies and personnel capabilities.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
  • Skill in problem-solving and management of field staff.
