Job Description

Overview

As a Construction Sewing Specialist at Walt Disney World, you will be responsible for manufacturing and altering costumes for parades, character meet and greets, and shows. This role involves using specifications sheets and drawings to create costumes while adhering to high efficiency and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

  • Manufacture costumes using high-powered industrial sewing machines
  • Alter costumes according to specifications sheets and drawings
  • Maintain quality and efficiency standards in costume production
  • Work with various fabrics including synthetic and natural fibers
  • Perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as required
  • Report to the Costuming Workroom Manager

Required skills

  • Experience in production, millinery, patternmaking, or alterations
  • Proficiency in industrial sewing and fabric manipulation
  • Ability to work with fur, foam, vinyl, latex, and leather
  • Physical fitness for heavy lifting, kneeling, and prolonged standing
  • Willingness to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
