Overview

The Construction Manager at Amazon Data Services, Inc. will oversee construction project management activities for AWS data centers, focusing on ensuring project scope, quality, schedule, and budget are met. This role involves direct interaction with contractors and various stakeholders to maintain safety and efficiency standards across construction initiatives.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage construction oversight for new builds and capital projects
  • Interface with general contractors during bidding, execution, and project closeout phases
  • Negotiate with general contractors and evaluate bids/proposals
  • Create project scope and requests for proposals
  • Conduct financial analysis of construction projects
  • Perform constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs
  • Manage construction documentation including RFI's and change orders
  • Ensure project quality control and report key metrics
  • Lead troubleshooting and root-cause failure analysis for equipment failures
  • Define system-level architecture and maintain project documentation
