Overview

Jobot is seeking a Construction Litigation Attorney for their boutique construction law firm in Jacksonville, Florida. The firm specializes in providing practical guidance and aggressive advocacy for clients involved in construction disputes, offering a supportive environment where attorneys can manage cases from pre-suit to trial.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage construction defect litigation and business litigation from pre-suit through trial
  • Investigate and analyze project documents, coordinating with experts as needed
  • Litigate a range of construction disputes involving various stakeholders
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and briefs; take and defend depositions; prepare discovery strategies
  • Evaluate exposure, develop case strategy, and advise clients on risk and settlement
  • Attend hearings, mediations, and arbitrations; support trial preparation and trials
  • Collaborate with teammates and case staff to keep matters organized and client-ready

Required skills

  • Active membership in good standing with The Florida Bar
  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Board certification (barring extensive experience)
  • Demonstrated experience with construction defect litigation and business/commercial litigation
  • Strong motion practice and legal writing skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and client relationships proactively
  • Experience working with experts in relevant fields is a plus
  • Mediation, arbitration, and trial experience preferred
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, change orders, pay applications, and lien/bond issues
