Overview

The City of Madera is seeking qualified candidates for the positions of Construction Inspector I and II. Under general supervision, these roles involve performing a comprehensive range of duties associated with construction inspection for public and private projects, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and city ordinances. Candidates may advance from Construction Inspector I to II, with the latter involving more complex duties and potential supervisory responsibilities.

Key responsibilities

  • Perform field inspections of construction projects related to city facilities and private development
  • Prepare reports and arrange for laboratory testing of materials
  • Ensure construction work conforms to standards, plans, specifications, and ordinances

Required skills

  • At least 2 years of experience in construction, inspection, or public works maintenance for Inspector I position

  • Valid California Class C driver's license
