Overview

Great American Restaurants is looking for a seasoned Construction & Facilities Project Manager to oversee the execution of restaurant builds and facility improvement projects from their headquarters in Fairfax, Virginia. The role requires strong leadership and attention to detail as the company continues to expand its restaurant operations in Northern Virginia and Maryland.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead planning and execution of ground-up restaurant construction projects.
  • Manage construction procurement, contracting, and cost control.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure project delivery within schedule and budget.
  • Oversee buildouts from mobilization to closeout, including scheduling and quality control.
  • Review architectural and MEP plans, identifying conflicts and managing resolutions.
  • Conduct site walks to verify design alignment and manage quality control.
  • Administer contracts and handle change order reviews.
  • Support repairs and maintenance program by identifying facility needs.

Required skills

  • 8+ years of construction leadership experience, preferably in restaurant or hospitality sectors.
  • Experience with high-end finishes and custom design elements.
  • Knowledge of commercial building systems, life safety, health codes, and MEP.
  • Strong organizational and follow-through ability.
  • Experience with contractor supervision and contract administration.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
