Job Description

Overview

Olymel is seeking a motivated Senior Compensation Advisor in Human Resources to join their dynamic team in Yamachiche, Quebec. This role involves advising managers on human resource management related to workplace returns, overseeing the claims process for occupational injuries and disabilities, and contributing to the effectiveness of operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide advisory support to managers on human resource management following workplace returns
  • Administer the occupational injury and disability claims process with proactive medical-administrative management
  • Manage a team of compensation advisors and a technician
  • Collaborate with corporate advisor, legal counsel, and medical experts on treatment plans and litigation strategies
  • Analyze compensation files and recommend actions for case direction
  • Review reports and decisions from the CNESST (Quebec's workplace safety board)
  • Draft and coordinate expert reports
  • Facilitate temporary assignments and gradual returns to work respecting workers' physical capabilities
  • Manage rehabilitation processes with CNESST and operations in case of permanent limitations
  • Make recommendations to minimize financial impact of case costs
  • Perform other related tasks as needed

Required skills

  • University degree in human resources management, administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in similar roles within unionized environments
  • Proficiency in common software tools: Outlook, Word, Excel, Microsoft environment
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage priorities and adapt to changing situations
  • Autonomy and initiative
  • Problem-solving skills
