Overview

The Conflicts Attorney role is a remote position within a top-tier global law firm, focused on managing conflicts of interest related to new clients, work, and hires. This position involves legal analysis, advising attorneys on conflicts clearance, supervising nonlawyer staff, and maintaining the firm's conflicts database.

Key responsibilities

  • Analyze results from conflicts database and outside source searches.
  • Advise attorneys regarding conflicts clearance.
  • Draft conflicts waivers and manage resolution of conflicts.
  • Supervise nonlawyer conflicts staff.
  • Document and audit steps taken to clear conflicts.
  • Maintain the conflicts database with client and matter information.
  • Provide on-call coverage on weekends/holidays as needed.
  • Assist with anti-money laundering compliance activities.

Required skills

  • Law degree from an accredited law school
  • Bar membership in relevant jurisdiction
  • Law firm conflicts experience
  • Familiarity with Model and D.C. Rules of Professional Conduct
  • Knowledge of anti-money laundering compliance regimes
  • Strong legal/business research skills
  • Ability to distill complex data into clear legal explanations
  • Excellent analytical, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated customer service focus
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Familiarity with Intapp OPEN or similar workflow tools
  • Supervisory experience or ability to instruct in a business setting
