Job Description

Overview

The Computer Technician at Universite Saint-Paul is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of all activities and services related to information technology under the supervision of the Assistant-Director of IT Services. The role includes installing and maintaining software, diagnosing technical issues, providing user support, and managing the institution's IT infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to users, including administrative staff, professors, and students
  • Manage user accounts for the network and email
  • Maintain up-to-date inventories of IT equipment
  • Install and repair audiovisual equipment for events
  • Diagnose software, operating system, hardware, and technical issues
  • Install, verify, and update software on micro-computers
  • Troubleshoot micro-computers and components
  • Maintain core IT infrastructure and services
  • Support the implementation of IT policies and procedures
  • Monitor and support network components and performance
  • Analyze and improve IT systems and processes
  • Identify training needs and serve as a resource for users

Required skills

  • College diploma in computing
  • Minimum three years of experience in IT support or technical services
  • Experience in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting micro-computers and software
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with Apple products
  • Knowledge of enterprise endpoint management and deployment tools
  • Understanding of automation, scripting, and systems integration concepts
  • Knowledge of enterprise networks and protocols
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity and data protection
  • Bilingualism in French and English
