Overview

Rush Enterprises is looking for a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Mechanic in Odessa, Texas, to join their team at the largest network of commercial vehicle dealerships in North America. The role involves technical service and maintenance of vehicles and equipment, focusing on both gas and diesel engines, while providing exceptional customer service and support.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment
  • Perform general and detailed repair of trucks, engines, and components
  • Overhaul gas or diesel engines and install various engine parts
  • Read job orders and observe vehicles to determine malfunctions
  • Examine safety devices and make necessary adjustments
  • Lubricate moving parts and test vehicles for conformance
  • Attend training classes and stay updated on technical bulletins
  • Develop positive relationships with customers

Required skills

  • 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver license (CDL a plus)
  • Experience with Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins
  • ASE certifications preferred
  • Knowledge of CNG systems and vehicle maintenance
  • Technical training in diesel mechanics and troubleshooting
