Overview

The Compliance Officer for Fintech Services at Midland States Bank will oversee compliance efforts for third-party programs, particularly in Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Fintech relationships. This leadership role involves guiding and advising senior management while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and ethical standards in a customer-centric banking environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a team of compliance professionals.
  • Coach and develop employees, conducting performance management activities.
  • Evaluate and monitor third-party vendor performance for compliance.
  • Lead oversight of Fintech partnerships and provide compliance expertise on bank-wide projects.
  • Prepare and present reports on the effectiveness of third-party compliance programs.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state banking regulations.
  • Collaborate with different departments to resolve compliance issues.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Risk Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in banking compliance.
  • 3+ years of experience in team leadership and development.
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal and state banking regulations.
  • Compliance professional certifications (e.g., CRCM or equivalent).
  • Experience in Banking as a Service and Fintech is preferred.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
