Overview

The Compliance Officer for Fintech Services at Midland States Bank will lead and oversee compliance efforts related to third-party programs, particularly in Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) and Fintech relationships. This leadership role will provide compliance expertise and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements while advising senior management on compliance-related risks.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a team of compliance professionals in a customer-centric environment.
  • Coach, develop, and conduct performance management activities for team members.
  • Monitor and evaluate third-party vendor performance for compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Lead oversight of Fintech partnerships and provide expertise on compliance issues.
  • Prepare risk assessments and reports for senior management regarding third-party compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with various departments to resolve compliance issues.

Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Risk Management, Business Administration or related field preferred.
  • 8+ years of experience in banking compliance.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams.
  • Comprehensive understanding of federal and state banking regulations.
  • Compliance professional certifications (e.g., CRCM) required.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
